Hannah C. Thompson

Hannah has successfully litigated and tried a broad range of matters. Throughout her career, Hannah has practiced in a number of areas including, but not limited to, complex civil litigation, business disputes, real estate litigation, financial services litigation, white collar criminal defense, general criminal defense, mass tort litigation, employment law, environmental litigation, telecom and IT litigation, cryptocurrency counsel, and has represented governmental agencies, entities, and individuals in a variety of capacities. Additionally, Hannah has also represented individuals, shareholders, businesses, and corporations in administrative proceedings such as arbitrations, litigation before the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Federal Reserve Board, and internal company investigations. Her accounting experience has proven to be invaluable in her representation of individuals and businesses. Due to her vast array of experience in her legal career and educational background, Hannah also provides clients with general counsel services which is extremely efficient and economically feasible for many companies, and “start-ups”.

Born in LaGrange, Georgia, and raised in Roanoke, Alabama, Hannah chose to attend the University of Alabama where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. At the University of Alabama, Hannah was a Capstone Scholar and a University Skybox Hostess. During her junior year at the University of Alabama, Hannah was offered an audit internship with Ernst & Young in Atlanta, Georgia. Hannah served as an auditor for numerous large, corporate entities; and, at the conclusion of her tenure as an audit intern, Hannah was offered an audit position in Ernst & Young’s Atlanta office as well as its Birmingham office. Deciding to call Birmingham “home”, Hannah continued her post graduate accounting studies at the University of Alabama in Birmingham (“UAB”) and is qualified to sit for the Certified Public Accountant examination. Immediately following her completion of courses at UAB, Hannah began law school at Birmingham School of Law on weeknights, while working full-time at a local law firm.

Hannah is admitted to practice in all Alabama state courts, in addition to the Southern, Middle and Northern United States Districts Courts of Alabama. She is a graduate of Birmingham School of Law where she now teaches as an adjunct professor.

Hannah lives in the Birmingham metro area and has three children: Henry, Eleanor and Stuart, who are the accomplishments of which she is most proud. Besides spending time with her family, some of Hannah’s interests include: spending time with great friends and extended family (she shares the same birthday with her middle sister, Leah), reading and learning, philosophy, almost all things competitive such as playing cards and chess, college football, cooking, the outdoors, and placing pins on each place in the world she visits.
